About

A nonjudgmental, compassionate, and engaging approach.

With 15 years of experience working in the mental health field, I bring a multitude of approaches to my work as a therapist. Pair that with the deep inner work I’ve invested in my own therapy over the years, and you’ve got yourself a highly knowledgeable and deeply empathic professional who can facilitate the kind of healing necessary for meaningful change. You’re a client— not a patient, not a medical record number. It’s all too frustrating to muster up the vulnerability to start the search for a therapist, only to run into the bureaucratic nightmare that is our health insurance system. There you are, ready to finally take the leap into therapy (or even give it another chance), only to be told that you’re only covered for X amount of sessions. Also, you’re told you’ll have to wait 4-6 weeks in between each of those sessions. During these sessions, you find yourself rushing to cram everything into each session, only to leave feeling as if something is missing: you find yourself either without any useful takeaways, or only being given suggestions you’ve heard about countless times and already know haven’t worked for you thus far. If meaningful change was as simple as following the latest self-care trends or reading the latest self-help books, wouldn’t you have already felt better by now? “But I don’t just want to spend the whole time talking about my past.” Unfortunately the therapeutic process isn’t depicted very well in most TV shows or movies. Yes, past experiences do play an important role in current challenges, but my approach to therapy is founded on exploring the connection between past and present in a way that is highly transparent and engaging. You won’t ever find yourself spilling your guts to a mysterious, stoic stranger who you have to fear is judging you behind their “blank slate” demeanor. I listen deeply, communicate my thoughts openly, and collaborate with you every step of the way. I’ll share with you what potential patterns I notice during our work together, and if they resonate with you, we’ll explore strategies and options for how to make meaningful shifts that align with your present-day goals. I know how powerful and healing therapy can be when you find the right fit. We all deserve a dedicated space where we can be both seen and heard as we explore difficult topics with compassionate support. I encourage you to reach out for a free 20-min phone consultation where we can talk more about what you hope to get out of therapy.
